
This course will provide an overview of vascular cognitive impairment, it's risk factors, and ongoing research. The objectives are to:
- Define vascular cognitive impairment (VCI)
- Identify risk factors for VCI
- Outline basic pathophysiological mechanisms leading to VCI
- Define areas of the brain and cell types involved in VCI
- Outline methods of diagnosis and assessment for VCI
- Identify research targets for prevention and treatment of VCI
- Explore clinical trials and open data sets relevant to VCI
