Health equity is not a distant ideal — it is an urgent necessity, particularly in the fields of perinatal and child health, where disparities can be deeply rooted in structural and systemic inequities. To drive meaningful change, researchers and practitioners must be equipped with scientific expertise and the tools to identify, understand, and address these inequities in their work and practice.

The Equity Pathway is a two-year program carefully structured to combine mentorship, group discussions, and experiential research experiences, through meet-ups and virtual learning opportunities. Topics covered can include gender- and sex-based considerations in grant writing, working with under-resourced communities, and addressing racism and discrimination in science and career trajectories. Learners are invited to bring their lived experiences and engage in respectful dialogues with peers to learn how to strive towards achieving equity in any stages of their research and practice. Whether you're seeking to integrate equity principles into your current research or reshape your career around community-informed, justice-driven approaches, this pathway offers a transformative opportunity to deepen your reflections of your world and expand your influence in Canada and beyond in the fields of perinatal and child health.
